Q: What led you to become a Creator?

I have always loved to travel ever since I was little, and my family took me on weekend trips hiking in the mountains of Vietnam. I fell in love with the outdoors and nature as a whole. While living in Vietnam, I studied to become an actress and have worked in many movies and television shows. It was an easy transition to become a creator with my background and experience in front of the camera.

Q: What is your favorite part of the content creation process?

I would have to say it is the journey to the location, preparing, shooting, and editing. This is when I can express my creativity and style!

“Keep following your passion. Don’t let negative opinions influence your decision, and always think outside the box!” @vicky.ngyn

Q: What is one piece of advice would you like to give aspiring AAPI creators?

Keep following your passion. Don’t let negative opinions influence your decision, grind as much as you can, and always think outside the box!

Q: What’s the most challenging thing you’ve encountered or had to overcome in your journey of being a Creator?

The most challenging part is finding the right location to do a photoshoot. In Hawaii, it can be sunny in one part of town and 10 minutes away it could be raining. Getting suitable weather conditions and lighting is the most challenging part for any Creator.

Q: Has there been a moment in your career as a creator when you felt you made an impact?

I think my travel content definitely has provided a positive impact on my audience. I love reading messages from folks thanking me for recommending places that they can explore in new destinations.

Q: You have traveled and lived in many different countries and cultures. Is there one you feel more at home in?

I would say nothing beats the good old USA :) I’ve lived in Europe and it’s really pretty there, but the winter can be brutal. In addition, the complex bureaucratic process while trying to get anything done can be challenging.

Q: What do you miss most about Vietnam?

I really missed the excellent Vietnamese food, my friends, and most importantly my family back home.

Q: What was your favorite campaign that you have worked on with Social Native and why?

My favorite campaign would be the collaboration with Viator travel. I went on this underwater scooter diving trip and was able to see all kinds of marine life down there. It was exhilarating!
