Q: What led you to become a creator?

I just wanted to share my experience of becoming unapologetically myself hoping that it might inspire someone else’s journey.

Q: What’s the most difficult thing you’ve encountered or had to overcome in your journey of being a Creator?

I would say not being afraid of my own voice, style, views on life and parenting, regardless of what others think. It took me the first 3 years to get rid of it and my account growth was tremendous once I finally did.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you would like to give aspiring travel creators?

Create content that captures the vibe of the place, not the people or outfits. This simple trick will add “magic” to your posts. Plus, know your worth.

Q: Has there been a moment in your career as a creator when you felt you made an impact?

Every day! I receive DMs from people telling me I inspired them to finally start a business, to become creator, to speak up, to travel more, etc. And that’s the best feeling in the world!

Q: What are the keys to a successful family trip?

Going places everyone loves and letting each family member pick activities, dining, etc.

Q: What was your favorite campaign that you have worked on with Social Native and why?

I loved all of them! But if I have to choose one, it would be Zales, because who doesn’t love diamonds?! :)

Q: How did you discover your passion for travel?

Growing up my family would always go on domestic family travel every year and discover new places in the Philippines. I think that’s where I originally got my love for travel from- being exposed to it as a child.

Q: What inspired you to share your journeys on social media as a creator?

I was told when I got pregnant that there’s no way for me to get back to traveling. It will be hard, challenging and even impossible to some; but I wanted to prove that while it is hard and challenging- it is not impossible. It is doable and not as daunting and dreadful as it looks!

Q: What is your favorite part of the content creation process?

I find creating content on the spot is my forte when creating content, especially travel ones. I don’t like to plan or have a spreadsheet of things I need to shoot to ensure the content is good.

Q: What has been your favorite destination so far?

London is our new favorite destination as a family. It has lots of family friendly things to do, lots of parks and the people are just generally super nice!

“The number one key to a successful family trip is to have zero expectations.”

Q: What are the keys to a successful family trip?

The number one key to a successful family trip is to have zero expectations. I make a list of places we want to visit as a family but if we don’t hit all of it that day, that’s okay too!

Q: What is your process for planning & publishing posts about a trip?

I don’t like planning what content to post when I am traveling because it puts so much pressure on me to take as many photos and videos as possible leaving me stressed and unhappy. I usually just take videos and photos throughout the day and just piece it all together at night – this way the content looks more authentic and flows better.

Her scenic images and reels are sure to give you all the wanderlust and remind you that adventure is out there.

Q: How did you discover your passion for travel?

My mom was a flight attendant when I was a child. And I worked for a popular hotel after college. But, the real passion started with my husband when we got married and we both wanted to explore the world together. We created a travel bucketlist and have been checking off our dreams over the last 17 years, eventually having kids and including them too!

Q: What has been your favorite destination so far?

This is a loaded question for a traveler. I love so many places. But our family favorite is Hawaii and we have been going together annually for 10 years.

Q: What’s the most difficult thing you’ve encountered or had to overcome in your journey of being a Creator?

Comparing yourself to other creators and their success is always one that is tough.

Q: Has there been a moment in your career as a creator when you felt you made an impact?

I hope so!  I hope if there is any impact, it is that you should spend more time adventuring with your kids and keep trying new things, while making memories together.  With this can also come greater self-esteem and realizing you can do hard things.  Life skills training for the family all the while having fun.

“Consistency is key! Stick with it and find your groove even through all the ups and downs.”

@parents_who_travel

Q: What are your tips to balancing fun and work while you are traveling?

Plan content creation ideas ahead of time. Think about shots you want to take and when you might take them. I warn the kids that they will be spending some time doing work with me, and may be my subjects as well. I try to make it part of the process anyways and thus it’s more natural. I also stay up after kids go to bed to edit my work.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you would like to give aspiring travel creators?

Consistency is key! Some moments are hard and deflating. Other moments are very rewarding. It ebbs and flows so stick with it and find your groove even through all the ups and downs.
